How sad is it that I proclaim myself to be some sort of Sports Freak and then I don't even post during the NBA playoffs? I am sorry. I have had plenty to say, I just haven't taken the time to write.
So the NBA playoffs are almost over and the Spurs have looked better than ever. Even last night's dismal game 3, which sported some record lows (2nd lowest point total in playoffs-147 points , lowest score by a winning team-75 points, lowest point total of a quarter in the 3rd-27 points) was fun to watch. The Spurs are just a better team. They play with more passion and more intensity for 48 minutes than most teams. They don't rush things and in the end, they win!
I would vote Tony Parker as Final MVP so far. He has been ridiculous in the paint in Games 1 and 2 and last night he made a three and still managed to score the most points for the Spurs. Although the argument could be made that Tim Duncan allows Tony to be great because of who he is. However, Tony still has to make all those crazy shots.
I hope that Cleveland can win a game on Thursday so that they can have some pride in how they competed, but in all likelihood, the veteran Spurs will find a way to get the Sweep. I am convinced that losing to Dallas last year and the to the Lakers in '04 has prepared the Spurs for this year's Championship. They have the hindsight now and have learned from it; mainly because they have the best coach in the NBA who won't allow them to repeat past mistakes.
So now we wait and see how this thing finishes up and then we celebrate! GO Spurs GO!
