botero, mccloskey, and more
i'm chilling out to matt mccloskey's solid demo songs tonight. last night he and i met each other when we both took a tour of a local recording studio. long story. but i hope to record there sometime in the near future. more later.
today i stopped by the southwest craft center at lunch and some associates and i met associate curator kathy armstrong who gave us a nice introduction to the co-located botero exhibit that's currently in town. i wish critics gave botero more serious attention. next week i'm heading over to SAMA to see the second half of the exhibit; the navarro campus is housing the botero smaller sculptures (including a marble still life that is really great), plus pastel studies and pencil/charcoal/chalk sketches. the city of san antonio has apparently purchased a botero institutional-scale sculpture for the library, that big enchildada-red building i work next door to. :)
still feeling guilty for not having properly reviewed the cobalt season.
go purchase their new CD.
