sorry, another personal blog entry.
yesterday was one to forget. i had to wake up at 5am (which for me is about 2 hours too early), frantically prepare for an 8:30 presentation (felt like cramming in college), was late to meet my friend Ted at lunch (that's ok, he was late, too), managed to leave work early and decided to drop my car by my friend at his air & axle shop to check on the CV boots, automotive items of which my style of driving apparently counteracts longevity. But Lo! It wasn't the CV boots this time. He had the car up on a rack and there I was staring at 4 impossibly thrashed tires. It was a miracle they hadn't all de-treaded along the side of the highway. How can I be so blind as to not notice? (okay the wear was all on the inside, which also points to an alignment problem which probably caused this. argh.) So here's where it gets good. I take said car to the tire shop immediately, and shell out hundreds of bucks for 4 new tires, and they're just finishing putting on the last tire when (either they over-torque or my car had problems) they shear TWO of the five bolts holding the tire on. Just sheared off. Ch-Ch-Chankkikk! Chinkakkkk! Sorry, man. Five minus two is three bolts. I can't drive a car on three bolts. So my car is being towed to my mechanics this morning early. I'm borrowing my dad's pickup. It's a stick-shift, and although I normally love standards, this one is funky. Hard to parallel park using it, too. That's all. Had to vent.
Paul. Thanks for sharing - you cheered me up immensely! LOL. On a serious note, a personal blog is cool cos I can see others have 'days' like me, and now you know that I have 'days' like you, and there's some value in knowing that.
It's time like that, that I wish I went to one of those churches where everything goes right. Y'know the children in the church never misbehave, the dog keeps his dinner down, the car always starts, roses bloom at Christmas and your own children call you bless-ed. Your blog, on the other hand is (more) real, authentic and great to read. Keep up the good work. I'm prayin' for you. Ciao
