My friend Claude Nikondeha, tied with Amahoro Africa, and one of the leading exponents of post-colonial/post-modern discussion as it affects Africa, is raising support to head back to Africa; it's been on his heart to go about "identifying viable indigenous leaders in Africa who are doing Kingdom work (mercy and justice) in their communities [and] linking them to non-African leaders / communities who have a heart to make a difference [with] working partnerships that benefit the poor."
Maybe your community can help me and others support this endeavor. Let me know if so.
Amahoro means peace. It is a word of Bantu origin used widely across Africa. It has special meaning in places like Rwanda, Burundi, and Congo, where violence and genocide have inflicted such pain and suffering. When people from various tribes embrace, shake hands or kiss, and say "amahoro," they are expressing a deep hope for a better future.
Have you sent him Stephen Nicholson's way? He and Amy are working towards something similar with ServLife.
