never thought i'd have this much fun playing cover songs

so jeff and i played orderup again tonight. orderup is the restaurant our friend david owns and operates. we play every once in a while on friday nights: two guys and their guitars playing a mix of original and cover songs. we've been having more fun with the cover songs: everything from the postal service and coldplay to lyle lovett and david francey; from the sundays and the church to john sebastian and bob dylan. we do several songs by the perishers. jeff harmonizes. he plays his olsen, and i bring the mandolin and the nylon-stringed guitar. last time i brought an acoustic bass. next time i think i'll bring the martin, for volume reasons, and we're gonna do losing my religion by r.e.m. anyway, in our thirtysomething kind of way, we have a blast. y'all come out next time.
