Two examples of bird's eye view, followed by two examples of worm's eye view, all taken by yours truly on Saturday afternoon (December 1, 2007) on the town square in Goliad, Texas, population 2029.
As I mentioned earlier, our comm+des firm is hosting San Antonio photographer Melanie Rush-Davis who is teaching a six-session, twelve-week Photography 101 class, replete with assignments and critiques. Two thirds of our staff are participating; most of us non-photographers or amateur shutterbugs, and about half of the class consider themselves 'non-creatives' as well.
Our second assignment was to explore vantage point — altering one's point of view to add visual interest to the composition. I invite you to do the same, and post links to what you come up with.
I forgot to mention (paul here) — my favorite little detail is the blurry word "GIANT" hovering behind the mustard bottle. These were all found settings. The mustard bottle was on a cantilevered counter-top of a Funnel Cake booth, so I had to stick my camera down and shoot several exposures 'blind' — just guessing where the shot should be aimed and hoping my focus would catch something. This was the best of the batch.

I like your pictures man. Whenever we have an event, you always have some kind of cool closeup.
